Virtual Production is a method for creating video content, where real-time computer graphics and tracking data of physical objects are applied and mixed at various stages. At any point, you can use a virtual replica of a real location to extend filming hours or incorporate virtual objects into previously filmed content using tracking data.
Custom camera rig, equipped with multiple hardware solutions, enables the delivery of raw camera data with low latency to our XR server. It also tracks the camera's position, focus, and zoom.
Our XR server is built using multiple nodes, with each node dedicated to resolving its specific graphics task. A central 8DOF node, featuring a custom built mixer console, then integrates these layers smoothly into a cohesive output. Sounds complicated? Let's break it down step-by-step.
This is our first project based on 8DOF platform to provide local audience with Virtual Production and eXtended Reality technologies.
It combines realtime graphic multi-GPU rendering with camera tracking techniques, motion capture systems, mesh scanners, keying and Mixed Reality compositing.
Data recording, timecode synchronization, lighting control, preproduction planning and many more VP features already integrated in filming pipeline.

8DOF studio owns the compact, but mighty and smart chroma key setup with one fully tracked camera, graphic controlled lighting, motion capture system and 3 GPU servers to render and compose content in realtime. That's more than we need to show you the power of Virtual Production technology and to film 1-3 talents inside virtual enviroments.
Video camera can see real world, virtual camera can see virtual world.
If we connect both cameras and compose video signal with render output of graphic engine we can mix objects together. Chroma key screen or LED screen can help to cut talent from live picture and put him or her to virtual enviroment. Virtual objects can be placed from behind the talent or atop on front plate.
Computer graphic production can move the talent to any dream in live.
Compositing of prefilmed video or hi-res photos with virtual objects is a good idea to produce photo-realistic shoots. We can put the plate with live video wherever we want in 3D space. Shadows, reflections and optical distortions can be simulated with plates technique to make final compose super realistic.
Now the talent placed inside the virtual enviroment.
Live body tracking and face tracking data can by shared to animate virtual character on the fly or recorded for motion design during post production.
On the other side, we use motion capture data to make 3D enviroment interactive and make the talent play with virtual objects.
Custom virtual scenes can be created by CG artist with the requirements to the model and textures formats depends on the software we choose for render. We combined them all and made the demo universe with tons of locations to start shooting immediately. The collection of realtime visual generators and motion effects inside 8DOF Studio package is made to perform with artists without preparation stage.
